Ok everyone. Let's see them. Those corals that most people would consider dead and gone and you brought them back to life. Sps, LPS, whatever. That piece of live rock that sprouted life? That dead piece you picked up from the LFS for $5 and turned into your favorite coral colony? Before and after pics of something looking like death to something you brought back to awesome.

Wow those corals looked terrible and turned out awesome! Great thread!

Thought I would revive a zombie here. Yeah, the thread and the coral.

These first two pictures were taken right after I put the scoly in my tank on August 8th of this year.

This was taken the following day, August 9th.

Here is the scoly on September 5th.

I really didn't take any more pictures of it until today, October 22nd.

WOW you gave that scoly SOME GREAT TLC!!! what was your methods?????

Thanks. Just lots of food. At first lots of pellets. Eventually lots of mysis. I rescued it from LEDs and put it at the bottom of a 24" tank under a good T5 fixture. Good water quality helps too.

At some date, overnight, the scoly was beaten up even worse. I think my maroon pushed it into my australomussa or acan lords, I can't remember which. That particular fish likes to rearrange that corner of the tank.

I didnt take a coral but I took a austrailian harlequin tusk about 6 months ago. It was at petco laying on its side almost dead in a 5 gallon tank and it was marked down from 219 to 110 and I told the guy I would take him at half off and gamble on him. Manager me him for 65 dollars and I took the tusk to my 30 gall quarantine and kept him there for 3 months where the first two weeks I wasnt sure if he would make it laying on his side breathing heavy but he took a turn for the bettet and now he is the centerpiece in my 120.

C'mon guys! I can't be the only person out there who likes to rescue coral. Share your stories!

Here's another scoly that I rescued. It's not as cool as the first one, and it wasn't as badly damaged. But, it still managed to make a good come back.

Heliofungia are tough to keep anyway. Low light, low flow, food (if it will take it) and keep fish/inverts from picking at it.

Galaxies I brought back the size of honey dew melon cost me 5 bucks out of a LFS grave yard tank
