Hey MTRC, I thought I would share some pics from my dive with Donny after MACNA this weekend. I bought a cheap underwater camera for the trip so please don't hate on the quality ;)

Darn over used and mal fitted BCD!

LOL, Donny looks dead :)

This is a cluster of 10 8"-10" Frags of A. Cervicornis Donny and I epoxied to the reef! AKA "Rob and Donny's Reef"

A. Cervicornis that was planted by Coral Restoration Foundation just 6-8 months ago

A pair of A. Palmata frags I hung on the "Coral Trees" at the CRF nursery.

It was the most rewarding thing I have ever done (hobby related).

I'm so jealous. My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend time with Ken and Denise, but on dry land. Inspirational people. I did buy a second tree. I hope to be able to transplant the corals to the reef one day.

Rob this gave me a good idea. They have a donation section on that web site so for every frag that I sell I gonna donate half to them

That's great, maybe the club could get a fund going to be donated in the name of MTRC.

Also rob were can I find that type of acro

All atlantic/caribbean Acroporas are protected and illegal to harvest. A. Cervicornis, A. Palmata, and A. Prolifera (a hybrid of the Cervicornis and Palmata recently discovered growing in Government cut by Colin Foord)

Man, that's fantastic! Not sure how I missed this thread earlier.

We have talked about doing an MTRC dive trip for years... it would be especially awesome to go down there to do conservation work and get some fun dives in, too.

How many divers do we have in the club now?

Brandon

Obviously Donny and I are certified, I know Sean (DrSly) wants to get certified, I'm not sure who else is a diver.
Unfortunately, it'll probably be another year or so before I can afford to commit to a dive trip.

Yeah, I hear ya there. I'm definitely not thinking of taking one next month. :) It would take a while to plan it, anyway.

I know Rick is also certified. Donny and I have done some dive-a-thons together before. I'm trying to think if anyone else is certified... I know a lot of former members that were... and I know a few members who are dormant who are... hmmm...
