Either coral revive isn't made for SPS or I did something wrong... I dipped a few of my acro frags today and now, 3 hours later, the dipped frags are slowly turning white. It's not its skeleton but it's more the revive turn the zoanthella (sp.?) white. Has this happened to anyone?

If you get revive concentrate straight on the coral it will usually do what you described. Always mix the solution first before you place the coral in the solution.

What type of acro was it, not smooth skin type right?

No they weren't smooth skinned.

I mixed the concentrate with water prior to dipping. Maybe I didn't mix it enough? It was my first time using the stuff...

If they didn't bleach completely they'll come back. Any polyp extension?

And on a side note, did AEFW come off?

No polyp extension yet...

Yes the AEFW and AEFW eggs came off. Hopefully I got them all.. crossing my fingers!

I'm sorry it happened to you, keep everyone updated. I def dip for 7 weeks though

Throw the revive in the garbage and get bayer insecticide. More effective at getting aefws off your corals and much less harsh on the SPS tissue. A $5 bottle will last you a lifetime.

I doubt the eggs came off. You'll need to scrape them off or cut the infested parts off.

I'd echo the Bayer for dipping as well. Considerably less harsh on all acros and much more effective. In my testing, revive did very little to flatworms. Normally barely stunning them at the recommended dosages.

For the Bayer, I have successfully dipped many acros at the ratio of 10ml of Bayer to 1 cup of tank water. There are several threads here detailing the process.

Has anyone used All Out? I use it for my z&p's and like it. I am just starting to get into SPS and they claim to kill the eggs. Just wondering if that is true

Is Bayer good with all Corals or do you just recommend it with SPS?

What about LPS and Zoanthids is Bayer still better or is Revive better for those Corals?

The eggs did come off. Maybe they weren't eggs and maybe I don't have flatworms. But they were clear sacks with little orange things in them.

I've used Coral RX in the past and have nothing but great things to say about it. With my first go around with Coral Revive, well, I can't say I'm impressed.

Do you have to dilute the Bayer dip at all? I hate how much you have to dilute Coral Revive... 4caps/1gallon of water??? Come on... 1/4 gallon is a lot for my tank

With Coral RX, I just dumped some into the bag my livestock came in from the LFS and shook it around and so much stuff came off. I had some pieces where aptaisia came off in literally a few seconds (well maybe more like 45 seconds but still) :p

Just do 1 Cap Revive and 32 Ounces (1/4 Gallon Revive) to save money and space.

That is what I do.

I've also never seen Aiptasia affected by coral RX. You're doing something right...

Ya I was surprised when I saw the bugger shriveled up at the bottom of the bag.

That's what I did... I'm thinking about returning it.

Yes, when I got AEFW I bought RPS All Out and I have been really, really happy with it so far. I haven't lost an acro to dipping in it yet. I don't believe for one second it kills AEFW eggs though - just saying. That is why I quarantine everything I get now - since getting AEFW, I don't fully trust dips alone since my AEFW came through dipping.
