were is the best placement to draw water in from and exit out from in the sump

In one end and out the other end of sump allows maximum time for any microbubbles to dissipate before sump water returns to display tank

I've even seen extra wide sumps designed with an extra 'turn wall' to lengthen time water comes in (to socks?) and returns back to tank

Is is also tthe name of a very popular coral dip but I think youre asking for component placement for return pump in a standard sump.
Typical is left to right. . . ..
Left- water in (optional thru filter socks)
Mid is refugium and or skimmer
Right- Return pump

for the input for the coral rx to draw water in and to put water back in

sorry lol i ment calcium reactor
Now that makes sense. The only thing you have to concern yourself with the inlet and outlet of the CaRx is that the effluent (outlet) is further upstream from the inlet.

I personally drip the effluent into the return section with the return pump and the water being pulled in is in the chamber right before the return section.
