Coral selection advice

I have some open real estate on the top of my rock work in the higher light areas. It looks pretty barren compared to everything else in the tank. What are some good coral choices for up there that aren’t SPS. I’m running a LPS/softie tank. I’d love to fill in some of the voids.

Favia are cool and do well with more light, some Zoas can be acclimated to high light if done slowly. More info on your lights/settings would be helpful in order to guess at how much PAR may be up there.

The par should be in the 150-200 range in the areas I’m talking about. I’m not planning on putting any zoas up there since I already have the beginnings of a zoa garden in a different spot. Just looking for suggestions on some corals that can handle somewhat higher light levels.

Maybe some type of Monti I think they like high light and flow.

Toadstool leather, some polyp corals. Anything from Euphyllia would be fine. A Duncan coral is also a good choice.

I would say lps I have a frogspawn up high in my tank it seems to do ok there. I may move my hammer coral up high since he's not doing to good at the bottom of my tank.

Thanks for the reply guys! I have a frogspawn, hammer, toadstool and Duncan already in different spots. I should’ve said that up front, haha. Maybe I’ll have to double up on some of the same corals to fill those spots. One guy suggested favia. Has anyone else had success keeping those up high? I don’t have any and they are a beautiful coral.

You can put Xenia up top since it grows up you won’t have it spread around your tank.
I have green nepthea and it does very good with a lot of light. Flower pot will also look nice and give you some color

Pavona can be acclimated to higher light. There are some interesting orange ones besides the normal mint.

I got the frag dirt cheap just to try it and it’s not doing well. I’ll probably have to pull it out soon. I’m not confident enough in my skills at this point to try any more SPS.
