Coral shipment delayed - what do I do?

I'm in the same boat on a delivery that was supposed to land Friday morning. Let's see how these torches look after Mondays delivery. Am I silly to think a torch can survive this 72+ hour journey?
Mine was supposed to arrive Thursday. All I really want is the hammer to survive, the rest I’m sure they have plenty of stock of. Some people have told me everything will be dead others have said some might survive. We’ll never know till I see it

Less then 24 hrs now for me o_O
I’m nervous to see if anything makes it but excited nonetheless that it’s finally getting to me
If you’re 5days out I’m sorry to say that your odds are not good. Update on my order 12/12 Corals did not make it. More than likely you will have to take them up on their offer to take care of you.
The acros you see on my top rocks are not a new species of “ghost” acro. Doh!
Interested to see what happens with you tomorrow.

Wow wow, hurts to see:( maybe I’ll be lucky... not getting my hopes up though. I just hope that their definition of “taking care of me” is replacing and not refunding because I got them dirt cheap on a sale and a refund won’t get me half the stuff I bought

I’m sure that is what they meant from their email. Don’t stress about it, I’m sure you’ll be surprised with how they accommodate you. That’s what I’m hoping for at least. This is my third order from @AquaSD, but first experience with a live sale. I have to say it was awesome as I was glued to my computer for two days.

Never even crossed my mind to consider weather issues, I mean who thinks of ice storms when you live in S. Florida? Also, is an ice storm even predictable? I assume not.

Yeah I’m sure too. It’s my first online purchase and live sale and I loved it, I was glued to my phone at work, I’m surprised I didn’t get in trouble lol. Yeah we don’t ever have ice storms here in NC so I never thought about that. But, not bashing the vendor but the ice storm in Kentucky from my understanding had happened prior to when my package was shipped and it was a massive one that had been on the radars for a while.

Just an update on my order that was 24 late: acan looks good, but the monti, goni and cyphastrea (freebie) are all gonners.
I hoped the goni would pull through as it had some color upon arrival, but by the next morning all the flesh had peeled off. Will see what ASD says tomorrow, but I am sure they will take care of it.

This whole problem goes both ways. I have literally not ordered anything livestock during freezing temps, thats just asking for trouble. I personally do my due diligence in checking the weather around me, and where I buy from and make a judgement to whether or not its smart to order. Saves a lot of heartache both ways, because as a buyer you are causing the store you buy from a total loss, since getting insurance covered from the mail carriers is kind of impossible. I wish people were just more considerate instead of claiming y'all "need" coral and fish, you simply don't.

Yeah I definitely understand your side and points. But to be frank, I don’t have a ton of money to pour into the hobby and they had a live sale and I thought it would be a great time to fill up my tank. No, I didn’t need it... will there be more sales, sure. It was impulse

Thank you for this, I needed a laugh

This is really unbelievable. It’s been delayed for FOUR DAYS and they still can’t deliver it by the expedited 10:30 a.m. The truck didn’t leave until 9am. It’s showing me 2:30-6:30pm. I have to go into work at 4. I just don’t understand it

So I guess now my question is.... is there anyway I can track down the truck and ask them to get my package out? Or is that not allowed?

I wouldn't even bother at this point. Those corals are long dead. Just let them deliver them late and let the vendor replace them. take pictures of the white skeletons in brown water for proof.

Sorry, but those corals are going to be toast.

Nope, they won’t do that. Honestly at this point, although frustrating, save your sanity, it won’t matter. 5 days in transit, nothing is going to survive.

True I guess you’re right... just sucks. But I also don’t wanna be at work when they come and somehow the vendor blame me for not being there when the package first arrives because that’s in their policy as well

Okay thank you. Yeah, not expecting anything to survive just wanna get it so I can make sure I get pictures for the vendor

Yeah, ain’t gonna be pretty or smell like roses. Mine was 2 days instead of overnight and everything was brown, goopy slime, cloudy water and stunk like Fulton Fish Market on a 90 degree day.

Sad day folks :(
I just don’t understand why they couldn’t deliver on Saturday when it was already at delivery hub and why they can’t hold true to their 10:30 am delivery time. If I’m right the sender when sending express overnight has to pay extra for early delivery time

I'm sorry about your late delivery. I was in that live sale, too, and know they had some awesome stuff and deals. Hopefully, they replace or refund—just a suggestion for going forward. You can have packages held at UPS or FedEx for pick up. With corals or fish, I always do that. They are usually ready when the place opens at 9:00. They stay inside where it is warm. Less time bouncing around on trucks. And most importantly, you can get them when you are ready. I know that doesn't help the situation now, but it might be helpful in the future. I had one package that was delayed and didn't get to my town until 3:00 pm. If it were a standard delivery, they would have waited until the next day. However, because I had it held as soon as it arrived at the UPS location, I could go pick it up.

Before I took yet another day off work to wait for a package of obviously dead corals, I'd probably reach out to the vendor with these concerns. I'm sure they would probably tell you not to worry about that package at this point and go to work. its been far too long for anything to survive.

When I had a similar experience, I made it clear to the vendor that I was planning on doing everything I could to save them when they finally showed up.... they flat out told me not to bother, it was much too long and that they would replace everything in the near future.... which they did a few weeks later. I'd reach out to them and see what they say about missing another day of work over this. they will likely be sympathetic.

I'm in miami and have 3k in torches currently delayed. No updates other than it is in transit. Was shipped overnight yesterday and I didn't get it today. The online vendor is offering to refund half of the $3,000 even though their website policy states that they are not responsible for shipping delays. Are they being reasonable? Or am I entitled to a refund. Assuming the corals don't arrive. Thanks in advance

if they don’t arrive you are entitled to a full refund, if you meant arrive alive then I guess you are at their mercy if the small print says they are not responsible...you could ask for a bigger amount in store credit instead of the 50% refund as I would think it would be cheaper for them to give you the store credit than the actual cash.
