This birds nest coral has been popping up all over the tank. I thought corals just spawn once a year?

Too cool. :-)

I do not think corals are limited to spawning once a year, but rather when the conditions (too many variables to list) are conducive for a particular coral to spawn.

not sure if its spawning or polyp bailout. They have been known to employ the same strategy as pocillipora in regards to polyps bailing out and settling in other parts of the tank. Cool to see it happen good luck with the new starts!

Wow I haven't heard of polyp bail out before?

ya agreed , pocillipora does it all the time and thats why ill never own another.lol although i made a lot of money selling all of the frags that popped up.

Yeah it’s polyp bailout. Coral growth of that size from spawning takes a lot longer. Green pociliopora is known for this
