Coral stem looks like it's going soft?

Got a torch coral from the LFS a few weeks ago, it's been slow to acclimate but has really been opening up in the past few days. One of the heads closed pretty tightly for about an hour today though, and I noticed that both heads seem to be going soft around the area where the coral protrudes. The pictures really highlight the parts that look to be going squishy, they don't look that bad, but has anyone seen this before?

Calcium levels are at 440, other parameters are normal.

Just looks like flesh to me? The corals will have an inch or so of flesh going down the skeleton. Is it in high flow? Most torches like moderately high flow.
 
I agree with @jasonandsarah. Unless you are referring to something else. That's a part of the coral, they extend over the skeleton a bit. If that wasn't there before it means your coral is happy and growing.
