Very nice setup! A couple of Zoas will add some color and interest in you aquarium. Here are some Sunny Ds and Rastas in my aquarium.

What’s up with your water level?
how about some frogspawn? If you get one that’s more than just green (not that that’s ugly) they can really pop.
I might just be too old school but I love what Euphyllia do for the tank. Hammers, froggies, and torches.
I’m actually saving up for a fancy touch right now. I’m pretty sure I’ll be placing two in my nano
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Xenia and green star grow like weeds if given access to the main rock. Best to keep it separated, as they take room from other corals, green star especially.Leathers and Xenia and green star are all fascinating. Leathers are big and very good for filling out a reef + add structure. Xenia has a pulsating effect that captivates viewers. Green star is very colorful. All grow fast and are basically nuclear bomb proof.
A few easy to keep coral softies we would recommend are zoanthids and mushrooms. There are several color variations for zoas, some really bright ones that come to mind are rastas, bam bams, purple monsters, grand paly’s to name a few. A simple, but pretty mushroom could be a blue disco, or a Florida ricordea for some bright oranges and yellowsI’m looking for some easy to keep softies to fill out the last 3 spots in my tank. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated![]()
You just cut them man. Like a bush in your yard or whatever. And anyway, even when people complain about something growing fast, it still takes a long time. It’s not like it’s overnight.Return pump was off as I was just about to do some maintenance, that fills the level up to just below the lid.
The tank is only 10 gallons and I've heard frogspawn can grow really quickly?
Do you think there's space to put another one once they start growing out?
Cultivated Reef have mandarin clove polyps on sale now for like $5, which is great: https://cultivatedreef.com/product/orange-cloves/
I reckon you could get that and put it in the bottom of the three spots. Then if you buy from CR, a Liam's clove in the top spot, and something nice and spready in the center. Blue star polyps or blue sympodium imo.
Note that these are all corals people consider potential 'pests' as they can spread really fast and uncontrollably. But hey, I personally would love that.
Appriciate the concern out topping off thanks, haha it's one of the very few aspects in marine keeping that I've actually got the hang of.You just cut them man. Like a bush in your yard or whatever. And anyway, even when people complain about something growing fast, it still takes a long time. It’s not like it’s overnight.
after the point that it completely outgrows your tank, you’re talking about maybe weekly training. And that’s only if you do bare minimum. Cut more, do it less often.
For me, the more “bonsai” aspects of the hobby are the biggest draw.
that makes sense about your return, Totally normal. I was just afraid you didn’t know you had to top off.
my very first tank, I would top off with salt water. Eventually my grandpa (I was like six maybe) realized I misunderstood his instructions and explained (probably for the billionth time) evaporation and salinity to me.
