Hi Everyone!

I'm have a six month old 38 gallon bow front tank.

Tank info -

Hob filter
Protein skimmer
3 power heads 1280, 600 and 500 gallons per hour - is this too strong??

I have added a bubble coral and a rainbow anemone thus far.

But I am looking to get some very very pretty bright colored corals but I consider myself lost as to what to get.

I would love some recommendations!! Also if you look at my tank and you see the long dry rock sticking out? I want to have a coral that will wrap around it? Doesn't this make sense? It's a high flow area however.

Please help! Also I live in Denver Colorado! So if there is anyone that's up for being friends and helping me out with questions that would also be cool too! If not I understand!!

Lastly people be clear in your advise as I am new to this hobby!

Thank you advance!

I have LED current IC LOOP

Okay do you want an encrusting montipora or polyp coral like a zoanthids for your branch?
Here is some nice zoas I have that would do well wrapping it well. I think the underneath part where there would be very low light. You might need a coral that can handle low light.
Radio Active Dragon Eyes zoas grow pretty fast. Or the montipora would look really nice encrusted.

Oh wow thost a pretty cool!!!!! What about something that also gives height in the tank

I am a big fan of flow personally. Like gold torches, candy cane, hammers, frogspawns, and bubble corals for height and movements. The Jabeo SW-4 gives nice bounce and flow to them.
This "was" my 40B. Tank cracked and now have 65G. I do not have any pics of the 65g. just videos.
I am thinking if you want height, but really need all the bells and whistles to keep them. An acropora. Personally I would stay away from them. I will leave this link from Tidal Garden. Pick a coral type and Than pretty much cover it with all info you need.

When starting out its best to go simple, i would say get yourself some zoas, mushrooms, leathers and maybe a hammer or torch. These types of corals can deal with bigger swings in temp, salinity, cal and alk. Once you have mastered the soft corals move on to move LPS and beginner sps.

I'm with Travis (FishofHex) on this one, softies like a finger leather will give you high and movement, are real easy to care for, and will grow fast. Frogspawn is good too, but it is an lps, so be ready to test alk/cal, and dose accordingly.
