Hey everyone :)

I have my first salt water aquarium up and running for roughly 2 months now. It’s a 6 gallon with a clown fish, turbo and astrea snail. Parameters are stable, no more algae and my corals seem to do well. I have a mushroom, candy cane, zoas, kenya and cabbage coral. I want to upgrade to a larger tank in the future, hence why I’ve tried keeping the different corals on an individual piece of stone. I was wondering if I can add anything to the larger rock where the cabbage coral is attached to? I was think a green leather toadstool… but any suggestion or ideas are welcome. Not sure what types of corals can be placed next to one another. It looks a little empty I think. Thank you!

Your tank looks amazing good as for 2 months old baby!
Coral tend to grow, also you can still get into "ugly" phase with algae growth, so I would give it a break for few weeks at least.

I like ricordea florida as easy and cool looking -- can't tell what your current mushroom is but it's something else.
*keep what YOU like but, that being said:

Tank is clean/new so maybe take things slow and let it settle in a bit before you go too crazy with additions.
*my 2 cents

Agree with everyone on duncans! Also, your tank looks great for 2 months!

Looking good! Toadstool or Duncan would be my choice. Easy to keep but also one of my favorite corals.
Thank you! :) I actually just got a sarcophyton which is a type of toadstool I believe?!

Thx! Really nice to hear that I had that ugly algae fase quite quickly and it vanished pretty fast too. I’ve actually been supplementing my snails with algae based pellets as I got worried they might have too little to eat.

What kind of lighting do you have? I like zoas and Florida ricordeas! :)
I got this light. Pretty basic but i feel it’s enough for the size tank I have. I run it mostly on the blue light and will occasionally switch it to white for an hour or two. I’ll need to look those Florida ricordeas up! thx!

The real question is what kind of coral do you like and do you have anything specific in mind ?
Pfff too many I decided to go with ‘what can I easily keep as a beginner’… more then really going for what I would consider my dream set up. Can corals from the same family be kept next to one another… or does that really depend on the type.

My mushroom looks bright green under the blue light… not sure what the exact name is. I’ll definitely look into the ricordea’s too. They look super neat! I know I’ve started to add corals kinda quickly I had a huge algae bloom pretty fast and it also vanished pretty quick. I am strict with my light schedule (set to 10h) and weekly 20% water changes. For now everything looks good and I even have to feed my snails a bit more because I have almost no algae. I also supplement my tank twice a week with zooplankton.

Generally speaking …
Yes
Foe example .
Hammers . Torches , can all touch others the same .
But need distance away from other corals

Cool! I’ll try to apply this to in my nano tank.

Duncan's are a good call as people mentioned. Other shrooms also always work, I'd look into a St Thomas Mushroom since they look like anemones and don't wander like they do.

That being said you might find some corals that your system will just have no luck keeping .

I still can’t keep torches , zoas , trumpets alive .
But never had trouble keeping hammers . Palys and some sps

Personally i don’t like how that look’s all spread out like that, i would break up that big rock into rubble and make a nice rock pile and add a few head’s of long tentacle duncan and xenia to get some movement going, i would add a rock flower nem and some hermit crabs, snails. Small cleaner shrimp
