Biocube 32. I'm in the ugly phase after cycling. I'm trying to prepare for corals soon. I have all the basic starter items, test kits, etc. What supplements or other supplies do I need in preparation for coral installation and maintenance? I plan on having some softies and zoas until I upgrade to Steve's led later in the year.

Test kits at this point is all you need. Until you get heavy into corals, water changes will more then likely keep up with trace elements.

Later on down the road, you can start with KALK to maintain ALK and CAL levels. When that is no longer sufficient you can switch to 2 part, or a calcium reactor.

Kn my experience water changes will keep your levels a little to low for my likeing. Or the recommended levels of any reef tank I have found online all depends on where your water comes from if you buy salt mix or buy premade water. I dont have an RO system so I buy my water for now and I test the water levels. Every store in my area is super high on alk and low on calcium like 12 alk and 350 - 380 calcium now the 12 is fine for watcher changes cause it would give the tank an addition and be good with water changes but the calcium is to low for what I have found for acceptable levels in a reef tank but seeing as your goal is soft corals that dont use up calcium as quickly they may be fine with the lower levels then are recommended but doseing cal some way is really not hard so the way I do it is just to dose my water that I will be changing out with the amount needed to being it up to what I run my tank at and very little is needed in the display tank doint it that way just be careful and happy reefing
