Coral Tamer Product/ Nem Cup

So I was browsing my Facebook page today and came across an interesting product that caught my attention. Has anyone heard of, or tried these cups for your anemones? I'm always skeptical about putting anemones in my reef tank, but feel bad for my clown because she absolutely loves her anemones. They are just such a hassle to feed because they always crawl behind the rocks where I can't see or reach them. Also the threat of them stinging my other corals. Thought this could be a cool solution if they actually worked. May not be the most "Natural" look, but I would be willing to give it a try for the sake of my clowns happiness and my peace of mind.

What keeps the nem from simply walking out?

Yea. I all ready said it may not be the most natural look, if you care to fully read my post, but it could reduce a lot of aggravation for people who love anemones but struggle woth them moving all over the tank. If they actually work.

A nem could easily just climb out of there anyway but your point about them moving all over the tank should be mute. In my experience nems only move if they are unhappy with water conditions or lighting. If you can provide these then there should be no problems. Most of the issues from them moving too much come from people buying them without a second thought to the care that they require.

I mean, I understand that they can move around the tank at will. I just wonder if the anemone would stay in the cup provided stable tank consitions

I think it would temporarily work if you want to separate a BTA that is on the move for resale. But a specimen box or basket is much safer. I don’t see how it could be used long term with out any anemone moving. Also my anemones rarely move in the glass away from the rocks unless it’s going towards the power heads.

I’ve seen it used by this guy in his YouTube video. Maybe you can ask him for his experience?

Any updates with any of these? Would love nems again for my clowns but it’s a nightmare in my heavily stocked mixed reef

I took the chance and tried them out after reading this thread. I bought two Coral Tamers From Wet Aquatics about 3 months ago and I haven't had one climb out yet. Some valid points were made, though nems a lot of times wont move if the spot they attach to has a lot of water flow moving through that spot within the tank; which as we all know, nems LOVE water flow. With this in mind my aquarium has three wave makers (one at the bottom, middle, and top) so it has tons of flow and its part of the reason I believe they haven't left it yet. None the less I think the Coral Tamers are a great fit for my tank or at-least for my convenience haha, easier to feed them and nice to observe them as well and not to mention they no longer reach havoc on my other corals!
