I bought a coral a few weeks ago I forgot what it is called. it is rock like and red. It started turning white and losing its color a few days ago. All the rest of the corals are doing well. Does anyone know what’s going on? Thanks for your help!

Sorry about that I don’t know what the coral is called. I have a 25 gallon tank it’s been running for about a year. I added the coral I have in question about a year ago.

Could you post what your parameters are? Have you done anything different lately?

It appears to be a cyphastrea, but it looks like it is on its way out.

Yes so the temp 79 degrees F
34.6 ppt salinity
340 ppm calcium
8 pH
0 ppm NO3
0 ppm PO4

I think the coral is exhibiting this because your nitrates and phosphates are 0. You don’t want to bottom out these values. Try to keep at least 10 ppm nitrate and .05-.1 phosphates. These are minimum values so try and keep them within a range that won’t allows them to reach 0.
