coral vs fish

I recently added a tree coal to my mixed reef tank. When I got up this am, my pigmy angel was wrapped up inthe tree coral and was definatly in destress. When it got away from the coral, it was jerking around and trying to swim but eventually died. My question is this; did the coral sting it to death or do I have another issue with my tank that I need to address? I did a 25% water change this morning.:squigglemouth:

I would honestly say that the fish was probably on it's way out. By tree coral are you speaking of kenya tree? BTW welcome to R2R!!
