Woke up yesterday morning and a small chalice frag decided to attack its neighboring dragons lair favia. It slimmed it with tentacles and killed about 3 polyps. If I would have left it alone it would have probably killed the whole colony! I never though that a chalice would was capable of extend long sweeping tentacles from one of it eyes and burn so aggressively! I ended up detaching the tentacles that didn't want to let go, and swept all the slime and dead tissue from the favia. Then I separated these for good. No true eyes but they definitely know when some other coral is nearby, and sting! That's why it usually happens at night when tentacles are drawn out. Beware! Here's a pic.

Warfare is ugly but happens a lot even when you think you gave it enough room between corals sometimes.

Chalices are crazy but this is like a spider man web and if better quality pic I would say pic of the month.

I just caught my orange acan attacking my trumpet had to stick something in the tank to cut the cord.
