It looks like some kind of algae to me. I don't think it's part of, or being produced by, the ricordea. Can you siphon it up or blow it away with a turkey baster? It looks like you've got a smaller patch growing behind the rics too.
It looks like new growth hair algae, might have had some on the plug when you placed it...I would use a (NEW, cleaned in RO water) cat litter box scooper ( this is my GHA tool) and scoop it out, might loose some substrate, but in my experience it rolls up like carpet and removes a tiny amount of substrate.It’s definitely coming from the Ricordea that small patch in the back was where I had the Ricordea before and moved it out. Then it started spreading at the new spot. I know it’s definitely coming from the Ricordea.
