I feed reef roids and I don’t think I’ve ever seen my zoas close from eating. Usually only if water parameters change or something touches them.Well I just put them in my tank. They're Itty bitty. So hoping for the best! They've come out an are looking beautiful as of now! They closed up after I fed my fish. Are they eating?
Feeding fish ends up in nitrates and phosphate in the water which is necessary. Too little and corals don’t get enough and too much corals may brown or pest algaes show up.Well I just put them in my tank. They're Itty bitty. So hoping for the best! When I feed reef roids my zoas (especially larger polyp ones/palys) will close up for a moment to eat. It’s not like a scared or irritated close, it’s slow like they’re pulling the food in. Some of my smaller ones like goblins don’t though.
Depends on lighting and flow, but if they aren’t mostly closed or stretching tall then they are most likely satisfied where they are. That's exactly what they're doing.. a very slow close and not all of them at once either. I'm really hoping for the best. Where's the best placement for a frag of these? I'm not sure if it's getting enough light or to much light.. and should I place it on a Lr or in the sand?
