First Time with this particular product...above where the flex tube goes in is a vent hole...should this be seeping water out of it, if not what might i have done wrong. thnxs

If you could post a picture, it may be easier for someone to answer your question who isn't familiar with that skimmer.

as you can see above the flex hose there is that air vent hole...will try a better pic...will take the skimmer off the tank

I found some info on Google about the water shooting out of that hole. Seems you are not alone with the issue. This link has lots of helpful info about the skimmer. It said drilling out the hole to make it bigger and allow more air in should fix that problem.
