Hi, I noticed today that my Coralife 72 inch fixture has some corrosion on one of the plugs and it looks like there is a little bit of melting on the edge of the plug that i have plugged into a powerstrip. I really can't afford a new light but i was wondering if i should call an electrician or if its not serious. Has anybody else had any similar problems? I have attatched a picture so you can see what i'm talking about. Please let me know what you think

Thanks, Jon

For the corrosion u can dip in vinegar and then clean off and dry. As for the melted part, that could be more serious. If the socket is causing excess heat to the point of making the plug melt....that sounds unsafe.
