coralife protein skimmer

So my skimmer has stopped bubbling, I have checked the line and canister it seems to be fine. What else could be wrong?

Mine does it all the time, there really finiky skimmers. I usually clean it when this happens.

I used to own one. When this happened I just added an air pump on the air line and it worked wonders

salt\calcium in the air line? i love mine it works beutiful in my 29 g biocube!!

When I had one, I ran it in vinegar overnight and cleared out and tunicates or calcified salt. Works great.

You might want to pull the pump apart and make sure the pinwheel inside is not stuck. They can do this from time to time. Probably all just needs a good cleaning.

Take some ro water and let it suck through the airline first. If that dont work then pull and clean or at least the pump.

Yea I cleaned it, it's back to working great. I just wanted to make sure there is not a trick with em or something I might have been over looking its working great now.

Every time I empty the skimmer cup I dump a cup of RO water down the air intake tube. This helps with the salt creep. When I previously used a Coralife Skimmer I would take the impellar apart every other month and clean the pin wheel/venturi wheel.... Can't remember what exactly its called, but the part that mixes the air and water together. There are threads out there on how to mod that skimmer as well by adding fishing line to the pin wheel which will help "chop" the air/water mixture.
