Hi all,

I've had nice coraline algae growing along my overflow and back glass.

Now they're all gone. poof.

Can someone help me solve it? Water testings are all good. fish and other corals are growing.

The only issue I've had is my T5 fixture broke and I was without proper light for almost 2 weeks before I installed LEDs.

I have 2 urchins, but they hardly ever made a dent in the algae.

I do have tons of asterina stars, could they be the culprit?

I’ve just recovered from a plague of them in my system we’re they were eating various corals to destruction and I believe they will also go for Coraline algae depending on the ‘variant’ you have in your system. And also that may be a main food source for them in your tank.

I was picking 50 out every morning when they are easy to see for weeks and then I added 2 harlequin shrimps which seem to have it under control.

Do you have limpets in your system. The ones in our tank Sean to love coralline algea.

I've been picking out what stars I could see. I want to get some harlequin shrimps, but some of my fish aren't invert safe. I don't want to drop the money if they will be eaten up.

I am not sure about limpets. I haven't added any at least.
