Is this the start of coraline algae? I’m just sitting to come out of a hair algae battle recently and this has started on almost all of my rock. Picture is in all white with no filter on camera.

Is the green dark green under white light with no blues? Also if you don't have em grab some snail friends to roomba that hair away!

I'm not seeing any coraline in the picture.

The first place you will probably see/notice it is on a powerhead. Or maybe a spot on the backglass somewhere.

I have several trophy’s that seem to be munching on it, waiting till LFS is open on Wednesday to add a few more RO finish getting it cleared out. The green is a fairly medium dark green by my definition, I wouldn’t say like dark dark by any means. It’s also almost impossible to scrape off if that means anything.

Is your tank relatively new? I had this is little spots around my live rock. It went away in about 5 days after I adjusted my lights to lower the whites.

If that is the same algae of course, I'll await a more seasoned reefer.

The tank has been setup since April. I have actually just adjusted my lights, getting a par meter this week to really dial in my numbers, as I do have a small monti frag browning/bleaching out. And it isn’t in a few spots, it almost completely covers most of the rock

What kind of lights ya using? Mine needed the adjust ment of full blue mid to low whites seemed to help. Also with controlled feeding and time the algae will dissappear on its own its the ugly phase.

I personally once my tank cycled turned my lights on for 30 mins twice a day and went up 30 mins every week. Helped me slowly acclimate and not burst algae bloom.
