coraline alge is turning a milky white ???? think i shocked the tank by adding bio pellets altho i did less than recommended so i wouldn't have issues but that's, that has anyone run in to this at one point cal's @ 430 alk @9.9 mag 1500 p04 0.03 no3???? dont have a test kit yet getting one tomorrow afternoon i also run GFO.

No problem. Switched over to LEDs about a month ago, par the entire tank and referenced all my coarls to there best location

I have notice since I have been run my Alk in the mid 8's my coarline has been growing faster, and if you can balance the Mg with the Ca. The rule is 3 x Ca should = your Mg or right now you should be at 1290 or around there. Were you are at now with Ca in relation to the formula your Ca should be around 500. You could try bumping up you Ca and let you Mg come down to within range of your Ca. What salt are you using?

fwiw I "nuked" my corraline a while ago w light on a t5 upgrade.(an ati has crazy high par) I just yesterday spend a few hours looking at other pictures of high light SPS tanks and testing and retesting my water as my corraline had not come back, except in low light areas.
at the time of the nuke I had some low alk issues, so I had suspected shock was the cause.

thanks for the info i will try that. fingers crossed i will post back once i bring up my cal for one reason our another havent bin able to lower mag maybe that will work for me i havent done any water changes reasons being the instant ocean brings values higher than what i was looking for

I was kind of poking around on the line:) and most of the posts were referring to balancing the numbers. I have had my issues with not being able to grown coaline and balance, lighting seems to be the key.

I am guessing your using IO reef crystals ? Look into the Aquaforest reef salt, about the same price. AF reef salt will not have your numbers so high and is better for your system
