Coraline algea not growing

I have a 100g fowlr tank, t5 lights. It has been up and running for about a year, and a few years before that with someone else. I dont have any coraline algea growing in it. Any reason why? Do I need to seed it? I also have a 56g that has plenty growing. Can I scrape some off the rocks or does the rock need to stay in the tank

Yes you have to seed it with some coralline algae. Then you need to make sure your alkalinity, magnesium and calcium are at the proper levels.

Water parameters need to stay as if you were running a reef. Then once you've got that stabilized, try and get some rock with it on it, or some scrapings of coralline.
Cal- 380-460
Alk- 7-12dKH
Mag- 1250-1350
SG- 1.025-1.027
Phosphates- under .05
Nitrates under 40

Keep the mag and calcium on the high side and alkalinity around 8-9dkh, give it some more time and you will wish it would stop. I don't clean my glass for 2-3 weeks and specs start to grow.
