Coraline algea

time and patience. Seed the tank with some chips, keep your cal, str, alk and other levels at their optimum, the algae will grow with the right conditions.

one more question if you had coraline algae living at 1 time than it turn grayish does that mean it is dying

You might try adding some live rock (or a snail shell and/or a frag plug) that has some coraline already growing. Check your calcium and bring it to reef standards (between 400-500). Once you have the calcium around the range, take and scrape some of the areas on the live rocks that have coraline. When you scrape the coraline, the tiny parts usually spread throughout the tank.Basicly ruff up the coraline that is already growing. Time and patience and you'll be ok. Good luck.

I have a problem getting rid of mine... this stuff grows so fast. One day I scrap it off, 2 days later it grows again in the same spot.

I dose kalkwasser by hand every day, kalkwasser supposedly is the criminal behind all this!

Isn't calcium supposed to be the best way to grow this? I have to scrape this off every week off the sides of my tank. Try asking someone local for a LR rubble and it may have some to seed your tank with

I guess i am going to buy kalkwasser since it make coraline algae so well try not to go out of hand with the stuff
