coraline "breeding"?

would it be possible to scrape away algae with less satisfying color and over time build a population of more pretty coraline? has anyone done this?

Scraping away spreads it.. so no probably not I suppose you could try scraping some of the prettier stuff instead to spread it around.

The green/uglier stuff comes in first and purple comes later.

ah i see, so no "breeding" I guess no blue coraline in the light for me

It will spread on its own most likely. I have a red, normal purple, and a light blue colored coralline in my tank
