What is everyones thought on the color/types of Coraline and it's relation to water chemistry. In my experience purple is the most common but what makes the other types grow? Are the different colors key indicators of something water quality related?

Not that I've ever heard. Different strains like different light.

Heard and read that as well. This is only my second reef so my experience is limited as I've only had purple. I have purple, pink, and green going in this one and it got me thinking lol

I would think coraline colors is a God-like formula consisting of light spectrums with certain trace elements, plus about 100+ other factors

PM me if you get "that good" where you can control the color of algae.... we'll write a book.
