Morning everyone!
I started dosing kalk almost 2 weeks ago. For other people dosing, how long did it take for you to see "explosive " growth of coraline algae in the tank after getting your parameters stable? Also, at what level do you keep your parameters (alk, cal, mag)? As always thanks for the responses!!

My rock cured for 12 months before going into the tank, then it had no lights for another 4. After that I seeded the tank with a rock from my previous build and it took about 4 more months to go from white rock to purple.

Alk 8.8 dkh
Ca 470 ppm
Mg 1350 ppm
NO3 20 ppm
PO4 0.15 ppm

Mine took about a year before it really took off, I seeded dry rock with a covered rock from an established reef. And scrapped the coraline off it with a knife.

Mag 1400
Alk 9.5
Po4 .10

30 lbs live rock from 2 year old tank.
30 lbs caribsea dry rock.

1st pic day 1 of new barebottom build with existing rocks and coral placed back into tank after sand removal.

2nd, 3rd and 4th pic 2 months in
With a very minimal amount of coraline forming on glass and starboard.

5th picture is 4 months in, heavy coraline spotting on back glass and starboard bottom.

6th pic is 5 months in

7th photo is 10 days ago.

Last 3 photos are my tank the day before going barebottom. Only year old but after transfering old sand and rock from previous tanks.

The coraline seems to receed a bit depending on my tank husbandry but grows in other areas soon after.
Just kalk in the ATO and dosing 2 part by hand until i find time to set up my brs dosing pumps.
When i had old dirty sand in the tank, i had issues with diatoms, cyano and neussiance algae. Coraline simply would not grow after almost a year with the tank set up. As soon as i removed sand and let the neussiance algae explode enough to remove by hand and cleared it out, my coraline soon took hold.

Hope this helps!

First pic is about 6 months after cycle was completed with live rock and sand. Had no problem growing coraline. Second one is now. Dealing with some gha and aptasia. I just added a filefish and it seems like he is working on eating the aptasia and I have a ATS that is starting to grow well. In the current photo, the blues definitely make it look like it has more coraline than it does. I think part of my problem is the few rock boring urchins I had were eating it faster than it could grow. I since removed them and started dosing kalk so I hope that can turn things around.

I had coraline growth starting around month 1.
My 10 gallon ato only has 1/4 teaspoon of kalk just to help with ph.
I dose esv 2 part and strontium.
Also dose 3ml of dsr trace elements daily from day one.
3 months in and running no waterchanges.
