I got a blueish purple on my heaterIs it on your powerheads or glass? Hard to tell from photo
Nov1 2020 is when I started itHow old is the tank? It very well could be
Dry rockIt's either coralline or a light dusting of cyano. Did you start with dry rock? A little cyano dusting is normal and goes away very quickly if the conditions are right for coralline to grow. I threw in a dry rock scape a couple of months ago and it started off with diatoms, which went away quickly. Then there was a light dusting of cyano, but then coralline took hold and is now growing all over. In my experience, the purplish coralline is the first to grow. Red hasn't been common in my tanks, but that doesn't mean it won't be in yours.
Have you tried blowing it off with a turkey baster or powerhead? If it stays, then it's the start of coralline.
