When I was cycling my tank I had coralline algae growing like crazy, it was even growing over turf algae. Since I added corals it's basically all gone.... this happened over a 6 month period or so. I had low nitrates for a while so I started dosing and noticed a small increase in coralline but nothing like it was while cycling. Any ideas? Best guess is the corals are using up all the goods. PO was about .2 while cycling... Maybe that's part of it?

Nitrate 5
PO4 0.9
Alk 8
Calcium 420
1.026

This is a 29 gallon tank with an AI prime HD. I do 5 gallon weekly water changes and dose 2-3 ml of all for reef per day to keep the alk around 8. Corals have grown like crazy just would like more coralline.

I'd like to see a pic of coralline growing on algae. I've never heard of this before.
As far as getting coralline to grow, have higher alk, pH and calcium, along with good lighting. Also, scarping the coralline will help spread the spores and help it grow faster.
