Coralline algae help

Hi everyone, I have just started to get purple coralline algae, but it is growing on a unused hermit crab shell on my sand bed! Should I move the shell to my live rock so it grows on to the rock or should I leave it where it is? I do want the coralline on my live rock? Thanks in advance everyone.

It will start showing up wherever it's happy without intervention. You might consider getting the shell off the sand bed so it doesn't get covered up but it probably won't matter.

It is a good sign but no guarantee

I've found a quick way to spread algae is to scrap it off where its and sprinkle it onto rocks.
