CORALLINE ALGAE IN A BOTTLE

If your tank can grow coralline, then this product seems to work, but as others have mentioned, you will likely bring some in on a frag or snail for free at some point. But if you aren't adding any coral or CUC or other potential outside source of coralline in the near future then go for it.

Agree, I definitely don't think this is a "must-have" product but under the right conditions should accelerate coralline growth. I actually only bought a bottle because I needed a little more in my cart for free shipping but when I looked at reviews they were very mixed in the time frames of when coralline showed up. I suspect those people that said after 2 weeks their tanks had coralline everywhere probably had very good water conditions vs. those who said it never happened or took a year probably didn't have stable calcium, alkalinity, pH, etc. for it to even grow.

I do think the product is misleading in it's "ease of use" the detailed information about the water parameters they recommend to have for accelerated growth were not easily displayed or accessible on the sites where its being sold. I first saw them when I opened the package from algae barn. If the user doesn't understand what coralline is and what it needs to grow, then they will likely not be successful and might as well wait for it to show up from some other source (like CUC shells, frag plugs, seeded rock, etc).

I added one bottle of pink and one of purple to my system when it was new. I also added frags that had coralline on them. I didn't have substantial coralline growth for months, but now it's everywhere (about 15 months later). There is literally no way to know if the bottled coralline helped speed up the process, but I figured it couldn't hurt. For what it's worth, I definitely have a bunch of different varieties and colors of coralline now. Also don't know if that would have happened without adding the bottled coralline, but again, it couldn't have hurt.

I did. But I would never buy it ever again.

When my tank was new, I added this stuff, and never saw any coralline algae until a few months later.
By then, I had purchased several coral frags that had coralline algae encrusted on the plugs, along with several snails that had coralline algae encrusted on their shells. so did my coralline algae come from the bottle or my snails and plugs? I'm betting it came from the snails and plugs since I never saw any for months after adding the bottle stuff.

Would never pay for this stuff again, as I don't think it actually worked and there are plenty of other means of getting coralline algae for free.

I'm a hard pass on this stuff now.
I agree and if your aquarium is not ready to produce or sustainable enough then it will not grow
