Coralline algae seems to be turning reddish brown?

noticed that some of the specs of coralline growing in my tank are getting a darker tent to them. could this be cyanobacteria? any ideas on how to address this issue?

If you brush it lightly with your finger - does it easily fall off - it could be cyano. In the AM - is it better - and then worse as the day goes on- it could be cyano. Pics would help - IMHO. coralline can come in many 'shades'. But - it won't easily rub off like cyano

The cyano is most noticeable in pic 2 - on the left side of the picture. Cyano doesn't strongly adhere to surfaces the same way coraline algae does, so it can easily be blown off/removed from surfaces. Just work on your nutrient export and/or increasing flow in the areas where the cyano is most abundant. Hope that helps!

First figure out what it is? From the pictures - and the color - to me its hard to tell - if you can brush it off - its cyano. Coralline is like 'adhered/part' of the rock. To me at least the pictures dont help.

I would try siphoning it off and replacing the water with SW daily - at the max light period (i.e when your lights start to decline for the night) - if you just keep removing it - and debris below it - for me this often works. Increasing flow can help as well.
