Coralline algae

Ok so I have had my tank up for about a year now and I was wondering why I dont see much well close to any coralline algae growth on my rocks! I dose calcium to my tank abd all my turbo snail shells have coralline algae all over them?? Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there something I should be doing different ?

I had Coralline growing on my turbos as well but couldn't get it growing on my rocks and walls. I started using PurpleUP and it has helped increased the Coralline exponentially.I think system stability, frequent water changes, and an additive with good calcium readings will help. The aim is to increase dissolved calcium levels and normal iodine levels

Lighting seems to do a lot also. I just had my LED light up for the past year with little coralline growth. A couple of weeks ago I added a NO T5 and it has been growing like wildfire

as cool as coralline looks its a ***** to get off and can get out of hand if you dont keep up esp on a large tank. but yeah maybe try purple tech or purple up if you want

I have the same issue. My coraline grows great on frag plugs, plastic power heads and a small amount on the glass, but it cant
seem to take hold on the actual rock. (dry rock that came from inland florida I am told).My tanks around a year old.

Ok cool! Yeah I do a 10% water change every week maybe a 20% if my parameters are high but they have been good and I've been dosing liquid calcium to see if it helps!

What are your Mag and Calc parameters? Coralline will explode with growth if you are in the right ballpark.

Coralline have trouble taking hold on my rocks too. I have little on my power heads and overflow wall. My tank is nearly 3yrs old, I have a lot of folks tell me I have too much lighting or my nutrients is too low. I'm running all T5s and started with 100% dry rock.
