Hey I need help about how to seed live rock or something cuz I need it but I can't get it to grow. I use Purpleup some of y'all might be know what this is. It doesn't seem to help though. Need tips

Well I bought about 10 pounds of it brought it home and put it in the tank and it just slowly died I guess . I don't know it's dead but it lost color and some of the algae turned white

Just to let you know I am 14 but I have experience with any type of animal. Anyway it's been running maybe a month and a half maybe more. I had 4 fish in it from the beginning and recently I got a lot of fish. Not one has died so I'm doing something right. The only problem is the live rock

Ok. Oh and by the way it's a 125 gal. And 10 pounds of live rock sooooo it will take a while cuz I am not paying $300 for live rock so I did (DIY).

Mine spread like wildfire, I always attributed it to my urchin. They eat some, and spread particles into the water allowing it to spread.

Getting a piece of liverock covered in it would be your best bet, and patience.

Ok that is what I planned to do anyway but this is my first time on r2r. So thx very helpful

What type of lighting are you running? My frag tank has been up for 3 months and is almost completely covered with it. Water quality of course plays a big role in its growth but I feel lighting is even more important. That's why I use MH :)

I think that is your downfall right there.... What size tank is it? Is this a fish only tank? Doesn't sound like nearly enough light for coralline to grow or at least at a good rate.
