Coralline algae!

Does scraping a full sheet of coralline off the wall on a small aquarium affect the absorbption rate of Ca and Alk? Would the absorption be less with less coralline and could it potentially cause an alk spike?

If your removing a substantial amount, then an alk spike may happen in a day or so. So yes. Give it to a reefer friend who needs corraline (like me lol)

Sounds good. Why not just test alk every day to see if the consumption whent down?

I'd be surprised if you noticed the effect, unless you very closely monitor alkalinity.
