Coralline algae

Hey guys. Does purple up and stuff like that helps Coralline algae to appear in my tank or it just helps to grow of existing Coralline algae? I want to use dead rock and since it has no Coralline algae,I want to know if adding purple up helps me to have Coralline algae?!

Purple up contains trace elements that coralline and other things use. I don't recommend any sort of coralline boost as your salt contains everything you need but the coralline itself. You can get scrapings from a tanl or some shells with it (but dip the shells in fresh water to kill hitchhikers). There is a company our there that sells coralline in a bottle and plenty of people like that.

Also some advice; have your rockwork out a few inches from the wall so you won't ahve to worry about deadspots of flow back there and crud accumulating.

May I add some live rock with some coralline algae on it in order to grow coralline algae on my dead rocks? Does it help?!
