Does anyone know if coralline algae will pollute the water when a massive amount dies?

Not sure. I expect some release of organics and N and P.

I doubt it because it's calcium based but what caused the die off would be concerning because that could affect corals to like SPS
Yes I know, been having trouble getting rid of Dinos and GHA for 8 months and is killing some coral. Nothing has changed to my system for 2 years, Tried every method from natural to chemicals. I manually clean the sand, rocks and when I brush the algae off the back glass the coralline just flakes off the glass.

The only thing that worked a little was combining Dino-X and FluxRX, I know it is not wise to do so. After a couple days one of my sps polyps started melting so I stopped and added carbon and massive water change. Did have a big impact on the algae after 2 days, gave my corals a week to see if they recover and I still have some polyps alive but the algae is back and a little worse. So I will try the Dino-X and Algafix this time and will not stop until I have beat back this algae, even if I loose some coral in the process.

My nutrients have been stable for at least 2 years, NO3 25 and PO4 0.143 with no algae but maybe a few little areas. About 8 months ago I started getting Dino's and GHA and when I brush the back glass of algae the coralline just flakes off. I have more info with Lavey's post. I also have a thread for this problem and no one has given me any help except for what I have already done.
