Me, I would do a water change and while doing that, syphon it out. It will come back, but with each water change do the same. To get to the bottom of why and how to keep it coming back:
You’ll have to do some research on what’s feeding it, read the link for guidance on that.

I know personally I couldn’t keep it off the bottom of my tank. In my main display tried everything, started dosing alcohol. And then I got a stronger light and haven’t came back on the sand yet. Ironically it took so long to figure out because I assumed turning the light up would make it worse

Keep up on the water changes and avoid aminos and coral food and such.

Maybe add a little gfo.

I'd bet becuse it's just on the one rock it's got a lot of po4 or organics on it. Normal stuff. It'll go away.

I recall you having a fairly new tank (about 6 months???) If so its part of "the uglies". once you get that to recede you will probably get some sort of hair or turf algae outbreak. If that's the case I'm under the impression you really aren't doing anything wrong. Again, IMO, you need to keep some phospahtes / nitrates in you tank and that will fuel algae in a common progression, which is necessary for a mature tank. diatom -> cyano -> algae. Keep up good husbandry, but don't drop your N / P to zero. It will go away.

Nice nem! mine is splitting tonight (for the fist time in 4 years) and I feel like an expectant parent!

Use 2 hands and a toothbrush to scrub any stubborn patches that don’t syphon off easily.

There is no easy way to get rid of cyano just remeber that it takes drastic measures to 100% eliminate cyano from your system

Use chemiclean if it gets really really bad. But that's normal and as long as you're keeping up with your maintenance it will often subside on its own. Like others said, siphon and clean the sand well, blow off the rocks with a turkey baster and step up the water changes for a bit. Carbon can help as well for the short term. Everyone gets it at some point.

Not entirely true. His tank is not near mature. His tank will balance out in time, it's rather new at this point. It's all part of the new tank uglies. Removing it and patience. After a year the cyano in our reef tank went away without a blackout and drastic measures.

Awesome congrats! Yes my tank is still kind of new. Its about 8 months old. I have already removed it from the tank. I started to do 1 20% water change every two weeks. But I will go back to 10-15 percent every week for now. I thought it was Coraline algae! Wow was I wrong!

Thank you for the advise!!!

Thank you DSC Reef! You are always a great help! I just figured I would already experienced Cyano, so I figured I was ahead of the game! I guess my tank is a slow bloomer! So after Cyano, I will get the green hair algae correct?

I really like that big branch. Po4 bound that it may be. It's still cool. Lol

You're on rodi yes? Or store rodi?
Yes I am using RODI water, and I store about 3 gallons every week. Because my water changes are only about 4-5 gallons, I do not store much more than 3 gallons at a time
