Coralline bleached around acros encrusting

In my tank, my coralline always bleaches in a pretty wide swath around the new encrusting growth at the bases of my acros. It goes from purple to hot pink. Is this expected? What exactly causes this? I’ve heard I think that acros produce peroxides when they’re growing. Is that what causes this?
 
Means the acros healthy and making way for new growth around the encrusting area. Normally it does this at night with mesenterial filaments. Just guessing that’s what is happening from your description. Got any pics?

Thanks. You can see what I’m talking about in this top down mostly UV shot of my GARF bonsai in the top right. It’s not pink here but white as it sometimes is.

Exactly as @Pedoconfuego described. The Garf Bonsai is killing the algae off in anticipation of expanding its base.
