I did a little lighting change up awhile ago and switched from 2 Mitras LED fixtures with supplemental T5's to 3 Mitras LED's without the T5. A local member was convinced my tank wouldn't grow coralline without the T5's. I did a bit of rock re-arranging at the same time and added a new piece of white dry rock. Here is what happened.

8/25 - Starting point

9/1 - Getting some spots

9/9 - Calling it 40% covered. It's mostly purple shaded but not what I would call covered.

9/15 - Calling it completely covered. Only the deep crevices are white

Looks like it's time to throw my 400 watts halide out of my house ...

Are you trying to make a hole in mine and all other non Mitra users pockets by making us all move to mitra ...

Insane growth ! Doubt I have seen that fast under anything - be it halide , ATI or radion G4 pros lol

Don't get me wrong, I love my Mitras units but my fuge grows coralline fairly well too, and that is lit by a Kessil.

Money bet he also says LEDs don’t grow acropora as well lol the infamous debate

I have been running LED's exclusively for about 3 years now in my SPS dominated tank. I am here to say unequivocally, LED's grow SPS.
I have to trim regularly as the corals are growing out of the water..

I’ve only ever had LEDS on my tanks .. never had a problem growing coralline , although I’ve never tested how fast it grows .. I have too clean my powerheads every two weeks cause they are covered everytime

Adam runs more than half of his 7000 gallon acro systems under leds and arguably one of the best acro sellers in U.S. Need not say any more ...

Photon V2 from Reefbreeders if I remember correctly. They aren't even considered a "high end" LED.

Brew, what are you dosing right now for the big three?
Is this pink corraline or purple?
I'm dosing kalk and BRS 2 part. Still doing Mag by hand only because I'm too lazy to set up the doser. I even have the container, its just a matter of running the tubing...

Very much purple. The last picture is probably a hair darker than it looks under my daylight settings.

The new A360X looks really nice. Saw them at MACNA this year.. waaaay smaller than the older models

I'll be upgrading my Original AI Hydras with these when they become available. Definitely don't mind being the guinea pig on these.
