Is coralline algae something that automatically appear much like nitrifying bacteria? Or do they have to be introduced into the aquarium through live rock, snail shell, coral frag, or water containing it?

It will come in on your snails and crabs unless it was already on your rock.

My first tank I wanted coralline algae sooo bad and I bought a piece of live rock with lots of it scraped a bunch of it of in my tank shut of filtration for a good 10 minutes with the powerheads on. Sure enough a week or two later I seen it growing on all my live rock which made me very happy until I had to battle it every week scraping it off the glass
My current 40 gallon breeder (second tank) I never seeded the tank with coralline algae and no more scraping it off the glass, Thank god. It does look very nice on the rock work but a pain to scrape off to glass which I had to use a home made razor blade scraper. Not trying to discourage you just letting you know it's a pain to scrape off the glass.

Flow is key for spreading coralline. It grew like mad on the rocks my power head was blasting. Took many months to grow in on other areas.

"The Flipper" does a great job of scraping it off the front and side glass.
My wife wanted it off the back glass last fall, because she could not see the contract against it, while the fish were swimming.
Took about 3 hours to get the job done.

Yes,
It has to be introduced, plus your lighting and big 3 plays a factor to make it flourish.

That sounds brutal , I'd rather peel 10 lbs of potatoes lol
I used to love all the different colors of coralline algae I actually have some on my rocks still but doesn't spread off the rocks , now I'm just focusing on getting my corals to grow fast as possible lol
