coralline lethal orange disease - treatment

Hello.

I think I have coralline lethal orange disease in my tank. It's basically an orange something that's expanding in a circle, leaving white rock behind where there was coralline algae before. It's expanding slowly, but it's definitely getting bigger.

Does anybody have any idea if I should threat it, and if, how?
My idea would be to put mortar on it and hope for the best.

I have some problems with some corals recently (Acropora and Goniopora), and pretty good water quality confirmed by several ICPs. So I'm concerned that this bacteria (or whatever this stuff is) leaches some weird stuff into the water.

While it can have toxins. Does it blow loose with a turkey baster?
If not, will have to be scrubbed off in a container of tank water using a firm toothbrush

Agree if you can get the rock out then scrub it down and maybe peroxide it.
I looked this up (never heard of it!) and interwebs say it is bacterial, so in tank maybe go with cipro? I think it’s the safest in tank treatment for bac but no idea what if any effect it would have on this

Blowing with a turkey baster doesn't have any effect on that stuff.

Scrubbing it off, mhm. Didn't try that yet, but I think it's hard to eradicate that way and since I will not get off 100% of it, it might distribute throughout the whole tank after that action. Not sure if this is a good idea, but it might be

Don't have access to thinks like cipro in the place where I live. I'd like to avoid any kind of chemical threatment if possible. That's why I had the idea to just mortar it. It's basically 2 smaller patches with 2-4 inches in diameter. But yea, growing bigger

I also basically kill everything with superglue and epoxy, it’s a good 1st idea!

Orange is simply the color of coralline algae when it is dead and the photopigments damaged. It is not a color of a particular disease. For example, you can turn it orange by killing coralline with vinegar, etc.
That, said the neat pattern kinda does look suggestive of a disease.

There’s a disease actually called after the color: coralline lethal orange disease (CLOD, you can google it. Seems to be pretty uncommon in reef tanks and also kinda new in general.

Btw, I used a good portion of mortar today and hope this helps. There was a bit more to do than just covering the 2 mentioned patches

Thanks. Fascinating. The orange is apparently bacterial and separate from the orange of dying/damaged coralline
