I have let the coralline take over the back glass and wanted to know others thoughts on whether they scrape or not? I love coralline but I think going back to a black back drop would make my colors pop, what do you guys think ?

That is a good problem to have, I would leave it, instead of the black.

I love the coralline look , the only thing is it sucks a lot of calcium out of the tank . But I let mine grow everywhere [emoji108]

I would love the back of my tank to be black again but in all honesty I will not maintain it, I know that so I leave the coralline. I applaud those that with so much motivation that they scrape the back routinely.

I used to let mine go. I liked the coralline look. Keeps me from having to constantly scrape the back.

As an idea......to give your tank more "depth" of view, scrape off some coraline to form siluettes so that it looks like distant coral/rocks, and have the black back wall showing for distant water areas..... ;)

I personally prefer the black background over the coralline all over. To me when there is coralline all over the back glass, it starts to make the tank really old and not taken care of. I know that is not true but its just how it looks.
