Corals are turning white

How do i prevent this from happening to the other corals in this 75 g tank? I posted a pic of parameters and some of the corals. I had high phosphates but now it has been maintained. A green chromis, anemone, and a turbo snail had skunked and died in this about a month and a half ago and i had no change in parameters shortly after. Could the aftermath of those dying in my tank be taking effect now? I have done 30% water changes 3 times since then.

Possible to much light or too much white light. corals can be affected buy to much light very quickly but it takes a long time for them to be effected by to little light. I guess id turn my lights down.

They are likely bleaching from the light and lack of nitrate. If thats truly correct at 0 n03 you need to bring that up because outside of the bleaching event you will have other problems like dinos. They are starving for nutrients.

between may 6 and may 13 the alk wen from 8.2 DkH to about 5.9 dkH (107ppm alkalinity) this is a huge swing in parameters

what test kits are you using as well? Sometimes nitrates are hard to get detected but could still be there

Unstable or low Dkh at 107ppm. (5.9dkh)
No nitrate.....should be 2-10ppm
A bit high on phosphate.....should be say 0.05-.1ppm

Using the APi reef master test kit and freshwater kit to test ammonia and ph

Lol, this is you problem, take all the API tests and throw em in the garbage. They are terrible test kits

Good catch on the alk there. Thats quite a bit of drop.

Op where there any major changes? Did you stop dosing? Doser clogged? Error in the alk test???

Salifert, red sea pro, and hanna test kits are the more trusted tests on the forum. You need calcium magnesium alkalinity, nitrate and phosphate. The rest are less needed

feeding increase it but do not trust the results on an api nitrate test, api is probably the worst brand of tests out there for saltwater tanks.

How can i raise dkh?

I would start with kalwasser. Then move to 2 part if you ever reach a point where your adding more kalk than evaporation allows.

What do i use?

For phosphate I use only Hanna UL Phosphorous checker.
For Alk only Hanna checker.
All else salifert.
To raise Alk I use Seachem Fusion 2
To raise CA I use Seachem Fusion 1
To bump nitrate and phosphate I use Brightwell NeoNitro and Neophos.

I would not increase Alk more than 20ppm per day.

Only start dosing when your water changes cannot keep your water within the “normal” levels.
