Made a few #%#% ups this week with my stupid doser
Basically I’ve gone from an absolute solid kh at 8 for 4 months and was increasing carbonates daily to keep up with demand.

I’m now at 10 since Monday it raised .7 then up again to 8.3 then 9 and today 10

I’m not going into the problems of how it’s happened cos it’s on another thread but what I’m wondering is how long will will it take for consumption to start again?

I’m asking after peeing off my sps how long will it take for them to re establish to the new parameters

I don't know, but if the only thing you did was boost alk from 8 to 10 dKH, I would not expect very long.

I like that answer cheers boss , I’ll keep updating here for others to know how big a mess can be raising alk to quickly

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the changes

Monday
10am 7.9
2.30pm 8.7 ( single dose from 7.9)
6pm 8.3
7.30pm 8.15

Tuesday
1am 9 ( single dose from 8.15)
10.30am 8.7
1.30pm 8.8
5.30pm 8.9

Wednesday 9.30am 9

Thursday 11am 8.2
4pm 9.8 ( single dose from 8.2)
7pm 9.9

Waters now fully circulated and mixed so won’t increase

Am I being paranoid or will it take some time to readjust ?

Salinity 1.024 ( adding salt today)
Ph 8.3
Temp 26
Orp 350
Calcium 430
Mag 1350
Phosphate.06
Nitrate 17 ( going to lower with vodka)

Seems with 1 kh used in 15 hours I’ve not done too much damage , I was at 3 used in 24 hours

Well, corals have completely ceased using carbonates
Kh remains 8.6 all day was 8.9 10pm last night

what the heck is going on?!??!?

Now 8.2
