Corals Browning/Green tint

I tought it was not an issue because of the BRS videos I saw using it and the PAR they registered, I don't have a way to test PAR , sadly :( Also , my sps are in the upper half of the tank only, now I'm not sure :D
Could be lighting but very unlikely low nutrients / stripping. That would usually cause paling, not browning.

The thing is I can't drop my No3 so I will get white tips due to High alk... So high alk and very good colours is a nono from what I'm getting.. Any idea about the "green tint"? Look at this picture ( ignore the dead Spath, that was my bad )

I believe its low par. You need at least 250-350 for sps + ( acropora ) and sometimes it takes time for them to adjust to lights. Most of the time they will turn a green color before taking off.

If the NO3 / PO4 values you mentioned are indeed accurate, I don't think you need to drop them very much if at all. ICP may indicate other excessive nutrients. Lights could very well be the issue as well per other suggestions. I was assuming that was a constant so if that changed recently, could be the issue.

I'm really afraid of bumping up the lights, look at this picture and the distance between my SPS and the lights, this is an IM Nuvo 10. I'm running the Prime HD at 36W

Yes I added more intensity on the light recently, was afraid of low par too

I would try and find a local reefer who has a par meter to borrow or rent. Knowing your par value will solve a lot of issues/questions. Map your tank at different intensities and write everything down, this will give you a "future map" of where you can go par-wise.

Will try to do that, I'm not sure I'll have any luck :D

How do you know “lighting is not an issue”? Have you checked your par? I have a prime 16 hd over a 6g frag tank and I was surprised how low the par is on it. I have it at 50w. Low par will cause browner sps. So will low bio load/over stripping the water.
Hey, can you give me an insight of how much PAR you registered with how many Watts and depth?

Thank you very much

What size is the tank
How high is your prime mounted
How many max watts is your schedule at now?

So it is a 10G, 13" height , light mounter 9/10" from water line, lowest SPS is like 15/16" from the light source. My max watts is 36W right now

apologies if i missed this and it was already mentioned...

how long have your sps been in this tank, and how long have they been under that light schedule?

J.

I changed this light schedule recently (2 Weeks ), because they were brown and trying to see if it fixes it (ramped up whites and lowered blues , almost same wattage) . This corals are 4 months old in my system.

Pat meter will tell you exactly what you need imo. I'm certain you need 250-350 to have acro grow good. And color up higher par requires higher nutrients so you do t get burnt tips from ALK. But your P and N are good

Running an AI Prime HD with AB+ preset + 35% power, so low light is not an issue. What could be making this happen?

from your first post, you say that you're running at 35% power
your screenshot shows that you're overdriving above 100%

can you clarify what you mean with 35% power? are you on an acclimation schedule?

the picture also looks very white... with no blues showing. did you use an orange filter for that picture?
lots of corals will look brown under white light.

J.
