Trying to figure out whats up

my gsp, toadstool, colt corals are all closed up for last 4 days

No idea why-mushrooms, hammers and zoas are opening

But weird all closed up at same time

checked basic parameters and seemed in line

any idea where i should put my search efforts

added a grandis palythoa frag a week ago-toxin?!

I would run a bag of carbon. What’s your temp has it or anything else changed, lights, flow, temp, water, or location?

Flow changed 2 weeks ago as i think my jebao scp-150 was put together wrong and now actually pushes water-but they were fine the 2 weeks after the change

I never have run carbon

lights-temp all the same

Alkalinity was 9

calcium 470

salinty 1.026

nitrate 10 or less

phosphate 0

never check magnesium-havent in 15years

0 phosphate is no good. You may want to ICP test for your trace elements. Magnesium doesn't get used up fast but an important nutrients none the less. Do you run carbon for your leather coral toxins?

If yoyr lights and flow are unchanged then the problem lies in your parameters and or water.

When to my lfs store and they tested

alkalinity 7.8 slightly low

calcium 435 ok

nitrate 21 but mostly softies and lps-like dirty water but could come down

Phosphate .1-meh!

Ammonia .1-no bueno

adding some carbon

probably do another water change this week-just did one friday

probably am over feeding to some extent

salinity was 1.025

any other feedback welcomed

Okay, first off, leathers can be funny and close for no reason or none we notice. Now, they will stay this way if you are messing with the tank. Hands in, moving rock, etc. They will also detect little water imbalances and close, then adjust.

4 days is nothing, but we should make sure. Leathers as they grow get more likely to release toxins. You will need to run carbon on the system or do many water changes. Just a fact with larger leathers. If you are running GFO, put some carbon in there too.

Next leathers and softies like food. They like some nitrates and phosphates and even phyto/zoo plankton. Do not have too clean of a system. They also like flow, but not direct flow. Some more than others. May have to find the right balance.

Can you get a FTS?

Not sure on why ammonia

I lost some chromis like a month ago that i never found

i know pics are blue i can get some better when

Will need a bit more white to be definite answers to what I see.

Toadstool is certainly mad as is the finger (Sinularia). Not sure if the pictures are of GSP as hard to see. Whites will help see any specific damage.

I have a finger leather that is very finicky and stays closed up a lot. Any little think annoys it. GSP should not be that picky and open within a few days.

Better pics
