so my question is, while my white lights are on all my corals frogspawn torches hammers Zoas acans gonipora all seem to be happy and out nicely. But moment my blue lights go on they all seem to start to close up. I'm confused cause they look so nice during the blue lights.

My ammonia is 0
Nitrite 0
Ph 8.0
Nitrate under 0.5ppm
Phosphate under 0.64 ppm
Calcium 460
Alkilnity 11-12
Magnesium 1500
Temp 78-80

Been reading I have hardly no nutrients in my tank, is this possibly the cause? Always thought you don't want nutrients. My skimmer is working good solid brown crap in cup. Fire shrimp, snails, hermits, sea hare all living good. Very confused.

I dont feel its the Alk. What kinda light are you using ? Seems like your blue just isnt as intense as your white channel so your corals are thinking lights are starting to go out, and closing up for the night.

Blue lights mean bed time, branching euphillya tend to retract into the skeleton at night.

Also if your whites just click off and straight to blue the sudden change can cause them to close faster. Like "holy smokes! What was that!" Lol

Lol nah, they dim into the blues, 15min sunrise and 15 min sundown timer. I'm using the Orbit marine pro 48"-60" on a 75 gallon. When blue lights are on its definitely bright enough sometimes I joke that somebody killed a smurf. I just don't get it.

its doesnt seem bright enough for your coral. Your coral think its time to close up for the night.
